Enrollment Eligibility

To get started, please print and fill out the application below, and deliver it to the Palermo Union Elementary School District Office, located at 7390 Bulldog Way, Palermo, or email the completed application to eheras@palermok8.org. Or you are welcome to complete a Preschool Eligibility Application in the District Office.

Once you've completed and returned the form, our Enrollment Specialist will review it and then reach out to you to set up an appointment for the remaining paperwork.

Children are admitted according to eligibility and admission priorities established and monitored by the California Department of Education and also Early Head Start if they are between the ages of 18 months and 3 years.

  • Children must be between 18 months and three (3) years to attend our Toddler Program.
    • Children must be age three (3) or four (4) years old by December 1st of the program year (July 1 - June 30) to attend our Preschool Programs
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Be income eligible according to the established State Income Ceilings (established by submitting a minimum of 3 months worth of paystubs).
    • Or be a current Cal-Works Program Cash Aide recipient
  • Or a child who has documentation of receiving child protective services through the county welfare department or is at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Or be Homeless

NEED CRITERIA (FULL DAY SERVICES ONLY)

In order to qualify for Full Day services, the family must meet the eligibility criteria as well as one of the following need criteria (once all need-eligible children are enerolled those children without a need can be enrolled):
 
  • Educational/Vocational Training
  • Employment/Self Employed
  • Seeking Employment
  • Parental Incapacity
  • Child Protective Services (CPS) or children are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Seeking Permanent Housing
