District Mission, Vision, and Goals
FREE SPEECH AND CIVILITY
FREE SPEECH AND CIVILITY
At Palermo Union School District, we believe in free speech and place a strong value on civility. As a District Board of Trustees, we are aware of a sign created by a Trustee during a solidarity march in Oroville several weeks ago. Each Trustee, employee, and student is entitled to their first amendment rights and the freedom to express their views. It is important however, to remind this community that individual Trustees do not speak for the Palermo Union School District or its Board of Trustees.
We also understand the frustration and pain rippling through our District and communities across the nation. The Board of Trustees stands against racism and racial injustices and support equality in our classrooms and campuses. Our goal is to responsible implement strategies to ensure equal access to quality education and provide a safe environment for all of our stakeholders.
This school board and District recognize and appreciate our first responders and law enforcement offices, not only for their important role during this pandemic, but for all the years of service to this community. A deep gratitude is owed to you all.
We can only accomplish this goal through our actions in the boardroom. Our Board is ready and listening.
Thank you.
